Workshop Description: Participants will explore the ways in which virtual manipulatives in ActivInspire, Pearson eTools, web sites, Pixie software, and Kidspiration software can support an elementary school math objective under the Numbers and Operations standard.
Outcome: Participants will increase skills in the use and integration of technology in classroom instruction.
Indicator: Participants will explore virtual manipulatives and identify how they can be used to present information and content in different ways, differentiate the ways students can express what they know, and stimulate interest and motivation to learn.
Prerequisite Skills: Participants must have a basic understanding of ActivInspire, Pearson eTools, Pixie 3, and Kidspiration and have some experience using them in instruction. This is not a basic workshop.

ActivInspire
- Finding great ideas for math manipulatives in the resource library
- Making drag-a-copy manipulatives and resetting the page
Web Sites
- Using web-based manipulatives from Pearson Successnet and the National Library of Virtual Manipulatives
- Linking web sites into your flipchart
Pixie/Kidspiration
- Using ready-to-go manipulatives from Kidspiration Math Tools, and Pixie Stickers
- Linking Kidspiration and Pixie documents into your flipcart
