Participants will engage in online discussions, projects, brainstorming, collaborative writing, and content creation. Participants will use the online course to guide their creation of multimedia lessons and activities to use in the classroom.

Using Interactive Technologies to Engage Students in Rigorous Instruction

Participants will acquire the ability to select and use interactive teaching tools effectively to promote rigorous instruction. Teachers will exit this course with technology skills in the use of 21st century tools, including Every Student Response Systems with Interactive Whiteboard Technology; Document Cameras; Web Conferencing Using Safari Live; Low-tech Tools in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; and Alternative Wireless Interactive Tools. In addition, participants will gain an understanding that effective use of these tools - in conjunction with questioning and student-centered activities - will support critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration.
