QRafter

(free and paid)

Function:

Workflow: Allows you to read QR Codes.  The user scans the code with their camera.  The app interprets the image and converts it into text.  Usually the text is a URL (address) for a web site. Then the app allows you to launch the web site.

Works on:

iPad locally as an app (download)

Windows 7 support not available

Comments:

Teachers can put a QR code on a slide and project it on their screen. Students can then scan the code and visit the corresponding web site without having to type in the URL.  Teachers can also put QR codes on worksheets, bulletin boards, or use them for scavenger hunts. To generate your own QR codes, you'd need to pay for the the Pro Pack (an in App purchase).
